Our group completed a job analysis on a JSO to reduce staff turnover and create better selection methods for the position. Staff retention was a large issue with this position in the organization we worked with. We started by researching local job postings for JSO’s and using O*Net to first define our work characteristics of the position. Next, we interviewed employees who currently held the positions and one of the staff supervisors to better understand the position at the particular organization. We used out findings to develop a structured interview and an interview guide for the hiring manager.
